A little history…
This suite is in memory of the Duke Antoine de Levis-Mirepoix, an academic and important historian. Born in 1884 in the commune of Leran – at an early age he realised his vocation as a writer. Heir of one of the most important french families. Graduate in Philosophy, he became an historian during the First World War. After having written several novels he decided to concentrate on Historic works based on the family archives, preciously kept for seven centuries. He was a member of the French Academy in 1954. After the death of his wife – the Duchess, he withdrew himself to his Chateau in Leran and it was in this place, full of history, where he wrote many historical works, the last being , an important piece that was published two months before his death.
